I'm moving from Louisiana to Montana on December 26. I'll be in a 2006 Saturn Vue pulling a Uhaul trailer. I'll be with my small dog, a Dachshund, and my boyfriend. Can I get some tips and advice on taking a long road trip - anything you can tell me that may be helpful.?
Bring a cooler if you have room. Munchies can be expensive at stops.
stop about every 2-3 hours for a break to run your dog and boyfriend to get away from each other if only for 15 minutes. Take a headset along for music because you may want to listen to music while you drive and he reads or vice versa. Drive no more than 500 miles in 1 day or you'll get fatigued easily by the 3rd day. I've done this sort of trip about 10-15 times due to military orders. Check with AAA as you may need snow tires on certain roads during that time of year. Can I get some tips and advice on taking a long road trip - anything you can tell me that may be helpful.?
