Can you give me some advice on replacing my front door speakers?

I've got the bump in the trunk, but now is the time to upgrade my door speakers. Before I ask questions, here is a picutre:

The speaker is 5x7

Now, my system is Pioneer, and I'd like to stay with the brand. However, I only found a very select list of 5x7's made by Pioneer.

My question is, is it possible to put a bigger or smaller size speaker in place of the 5x7? I honestly would rather stay with the 5x7, but if it requires a small bit of modding, I guess I could do it. Or, would you guys really recommend using a different size speaker?

Any other advice on replacing my front door speakers would be appreciated. And by the way, they will be powered by my headunit which puts out 22 watts RMS per channel, so I dont need anything huge. The paper cones that are in there now get distorted and I have to keep them quiet or else they pop. Thanks. Can you give me some advice on replacing my front door speakers?
I would try to find an adaptor for some 5.25 inch speakers... 5x7, 6x9, or anything along those lines do not have very good SQ.

pioneer are alright but I would try to go with something more like

polk

infinity

Boston Acoustic

those will sound a lot better than pioneer

Good luckCan you give me some advice on replacing my front door speakers?
I know you like pionner but, I got 4 RockfordForgate 5x7's and they are LOUD and CLEAR, take them in consideration.
if you want to stick with pionner the you want to get an adaptor to fit a more common size speaker, you want speakers that are powered by an amp not by your head unit. anything more powerfull than what you already have wont sound anybetter becuase the headunit wont have to power.

so i suggest you get a 5.25 adptor get a component set which comes with an amp. hide the amp under/behind the glove box or somewhere and run the cables to the door spreakers all done for more info and help try

from the size im guessing u have a ford. u should be able to get an adaptor. i would get 1 that takes u from 5x7 to 5.25 or 6.5. pioneer is ok for lower end but it would sound better with something like polk. even better would be get the adaptor like i said and go with a component set. ud be very happy.
