What is the best advice you've ever gotten?

In college: While some say major in your interest, be sure you get a certificate or license in something. A history degree (in my case) is great for interests, but figure out something to do with it.

In marriage: There is no perfect spouse. This does not mean to settle. It means to find the LEAST annoying person to marry. And make sure they are your friend. After the sexfest, you need something to talk about. Nobody else can make you happy. The Cinderella Complex is what makes women hate their marriage. What is the best advice you've ever gotten?
success is the sweetest revengeWhat is the best advice you've ever gotten?
When I was 17 my grandfather told me that there was a little voice in the back of my mind that would always tell me the right thing to do if I would just listen.

He added, the difficult thing is making yourself do what It tells you to do.

He was correct on both counts.

Love and blessings Don
Always take responsibility for your mistakes.
The best advice that I got , which changed my life forever was given by a person who was competing for a job along with many others , in a group interview , for a large company.

I was so eager to get the job that unconsciously dominated the whole group discussion. The other participants got very little chance.

At the end this simple person came to me and told. '; Mr. I donot know your name. But what you did was not right. Not only you will not get this job but you spoilled the chances for many. Live and let live . be accomodative.

To this day that advice guides me .
be yourself and have people like you for you
my late grandfather use to said:...you can be good lawyer, good politician, good doctor etc,but always remember,be good man at first...I never forget that advice.
Make the best of a bad situation and it will pay you back ten times over.
To read and search for answers to my problems...

because someone out there somewhere has probably faced a similar problem and wrote about the answer, and in this way you can solve the problem by yourself, for yourself.
Never give up and you are as old as you want.

Although I didn't actually receive it from someone face to face.
Quit worrying about making everyone like you.
the best advice i ever got - i got when i was 11 yrs old, right after my Dad passed away. i met some Hare Krishna devotees, they told me to chant this 16 syllable prayer, and be happy. i am almost 51 now and it still helps me be happy!
Don't burn bridges.
To shut my mouth %26amp; listen, I might learn something. I did. Thanks.
allways look at the bright side of life
