Do you think the teachings of Jesus were meant to be organized into a religion,or just to be used for advice.?

Any religion that worships one or more deities could use his teachings.

Just like Hellenic Polytheists for example.Do you think the teachings of Jesus were meant to be organized into a religion,or just to be used for advice.?
Or he just reworded older religious teachings. All his wisdom already existed outside of the Jewish culture. They just needed to be taught some civility. Their non inclusive pompous beliefs did not allow for morality.Do you think the teachings of Jesus were meant to be organized into a religion,or just to be used for advice.?
The bible was certainly put together to be a basis for organizing a religion, that's for sure.

Bearing in mind that there's no evidence of the biblical Jesus having ever existed, there's also no reason to presume that what's in the bible represents his teachings. There's no reason to assume that his teachings represent anything but a compilation from a lot of different sources tapped by the writers of the material- including Greek ones.

There's also no reason to assume that all of the material in the bible was put in there for the reasons that the first person who created that material intended it.

So there's undoubtedly stuff in there that was originally intended as advice but has been put in the service of an organized religion, in many or probably even most cases not even the religion that the first creator of the material belonged to or was speaking about.
God did not have the Ten Commandments for advice. It is his law. The teaching of Jesus is not to say God is advising you to be good. He's telling you how to be good to get to Heaven. Nothing in the writings of the word is advice. It's the law and they way and the means to get to his Kingdom.
Yeshua was bringing the New Covenant promised to the Jewish people by God at Jeremiah 31:31-34. Therefore, it seems evident that He sanctioned the practice of these teachings by His believers.

No other religious systems can successfully incorporate these teachings, since one must enter into the Covenant in order to benefit from what He said and promised.
His followers called, disciples were so dedicated that they carried his words to many places education people about Jesus. They started churches. After his death, there were some who wrote down what they remembered. It was not until 325AD that the Emperor of Rome - Constantine, decided to compile all the writings into one book.

Rev. TomCat
There is only one truth. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Him. We are getting very close to the Tribulation. Study God's word(The Bible) and follow His commandments. Jesus Christ died for your sins so whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. If you have Jesus, your sins are forgiven. If you don't, you pay for your sins yourself in hell.
no, it was meant for a religion.

He took st peter aside and said: ';Upon this rock I will build my church';

It was a real church and a spiritual church.

I've often wondered though, why didn't He say ';temple'; instead of ';church';.

*goes to look up the etymology of ';church';*

wow---that kind a blew me away.

snap! I learn something new here everyday

Thanks for asking
Again... christianity is not a religion, it's a lifestyle... Jesus' lifestyle that we should adopt, many religions has now become business... so we should be aware that religion may be misleading.
';Upon this Rock I shall build my church'; Jesus had said.

Religion is important inorder to develop a community of faith, and Jesus wanted that development. So yes, it was intended to become a religion
The teachings of Jesus???

There were no teachings of Jesus. However, there is that collection of ';books'; written by insane human beings who managed to brainwash and control half of the human race.
Unless im mistaken Shinigami the only recorded evidence of jesus saying that is in the gospel of peter. Thats not an unbiased source,,,
Matt 21:31

Jesus abhorred organized religion, because it's a breeding ground for hypocrisy.
I think any philosophy that gets turned into religion sh隆ts the bed.
yes...

no they couldnt....HE SPOKE OF THE TRINITY....ONE GOD
No- they were meant to change the earth by bringing the kingdom Jesus died for into being. Our Father...
